Road Congestion The green lobby and ertwhile Liberals and now the New Labour / New Conservative parties have all joined forces with a view to taxing the nation to a halt - using the new environmental carbon reducing religion as justification for so doing. Of course, we all know that the UK government and it's MPs and the European Union and it's MEPs, all our civil servants and local government servants, police, public services etc will be granted immunity - and if they are not granted immunity, you can bet your pension (not a lot I know in comparison to the gold-plated pension preserves of the same 'immune' persons), that is is the 'ordinary' Joe & Jane Bloggs who will pay not only for their own 'environmental tax' but also for the cost of the same tax which the 'ruling' and 'special' classes might have to pay - by way of increased council taxes. Of course, commercial business operating in the UK economy will simply pass yet more cost onto - yes, you guessed it, the 'ordinary' Joe & Jane Bloggs. Does 'congestion charging' have your vote? |

Buying a Secondhand Car - Registration Check If you have been offered a secondhand car at a very good price - lucky you, but be careful! When buying a secondhand car, the DVLA recommends you to check the serial number which appears at the top right-hand corner of the Registration Certificate (Form V5C). If the certificate bears the prefix BG and falls within the range BG 9167501 to BG 9214000, before paying any money for the car you are advised to check if the certificate is genuine by calling the DVLA helpline on 0870 241 1878 This range of BG certificates usually accompany stolen cars which have had their identity changed to match that of a legitimate vehicle. The background colour of the Notification of Permanent Export (Form V5C/4) tear-off slip on the second page is different - it looks mauve on the front and pink on the reverse.
